Hummingbird Interview with Author Jude Angelini

A familiar voice accompanies me nearly every day from 4-7pm while listening to the radio. A perfectly honest personality that can make anyone genuinely laugh by saying all of the things most people are afraid to. Jude Angelini, the host of SiriusXM Shade45’s “All Out Show”, is the quintessential underdog that has made it with the odds stacks against him. His candid approach is enough to keep his audience coming back for more.

Originally from a small GM suburb of Detroit, Michigan called Pontiac, Angelini got his start on the Jenny Jones Show back in the 90’s as the in house jokester. I’m not going to front for one second and say that he wasn’t my favorite part of that show! It was there he was donned the name “Rude Jude” by one of the guests on the show.

Fast forward 20 years he has a long standing satellite radio show and is a two time author of memoirs that will keep you glued to the pages yearning for more. His books Hyena & Hummingbird are both delightfully dark rhythmic accounts about the cause & effect in his life. Writings of growing up poor, family troubles, intimacy issues & insecurities are woven in with big dreams, sexcapades, illicit drug use, and constantly filling the voids create this hidden gem. Still a functioning drug user (in his own words) Angelini is currently in the midst of a major book promo for his latest installment Hummingbird. I heard him pushing the book one afternoon while listening to his show and I had to check it out for myself! Now I don’t want to give anything away y’all but just know that I bought BOTH Hummingbird & Hyena and read each book in under 3 hours! After reading Hyena I was so hype for Hummingbird that I tagged Jude on my IG story to show some support. I wanted to get the word out to my followers just as I do with anything I’m feeling! When he asked if I would like to collab for this blog I jumped at the chance. Now as ya’ll have probably noticed blogging about books is not typically my genre but I could personally relate to his books and more importantly his message. Being a plus size fashion blogger I’ve had to overcome my own societal adversity but I’ve flipped everything people have ever tried to put me down for into something empowering and positive. If you ask me that’s exactly what Angelini is doing through his memoirs. When you cut through the comedic relief, drugs, and sex there’s a deeper message that normality is completely relative. You can overcome every adversity thrown your way and achieve dreams you never thought possible. Both Hyena & Hummingbird are must reads in my opinion; they will leave you laughing, intrigued, astonished and most importantly INSPIRED!

Make sure you check out my interview with the author above where we shoot the breeze about sex, labels, culture, HATE IT OR LOVE IT, and most importantly his latest book Hummingbird.
